An addendum (on music)

One of my earliest memories regarding music is of me at 5 years old, hiding under my covers listening to a handheld radio until waay past bedtime. I was mildly obsessed with the Stones, “Satisfaction” and Starship’s, “We Built This City” and “Our House”, by Madness. I vividly remember LOVING these songs, and that was more than two decades ago. From there it was making up dance routines in first grade to Madonna’s, “Like a Virgin”. (Which we performed out on the big tires at recess, much to the chagrin the our teachers.) 2nd grade was Bananarama’s “Venus”, Bon Jovi’s “Shot Through the Heart”, and Joan Jett’s “I Love Rock n Roll”. My 2nd grade teacher had a jukebox in her basement. We went to her house for a field trip and I was in my element playing DJ. I fell in love with Pat Benatar that day, and begged my mom to take me to the library so I could check out her records.

I’ve never looked back. Music has been my faithful friend through it all. And indulging in live music is a full blown addiction.

Check out a few posts and if you find that you like some of what I like — stick around. Let’s talk music; let’s be friends. I have met some of my very dearest friends, my musical soul-mates as I call them, through the artists I love. Connecting with like-minded people just may be what I am most passionate about.

“When someone shares something of value with you, and you benefit from it, you have a moral obligation to share it with others.”
(I don’t know who said it, but I whole-heartedly agree. Please share the love.)
